THE TEN COMMANDMENTS OF GOD

1) I am the Lord thy god, who brought thee out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage.

2) Thou shalt have no other gods before Me.
(Do not make idols that look like things in the sky or on the earth or in the water. Do not worship any idol, because I am the Lord your God. I do not want you to worship any other god. I will punish many generation of those who hate me. But I will love those who love me and obey my laws.)
3) Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
(I, the Lord your God, will punish anyone who uses my name in a wrong way.)
4) Remember the Sabbath day to keep it holy.
(You have six days in a week to do your work. The seventh day is a day of rest to honor the Lord your God. On that day no one is to work. Neither you, your children, your servants, your animals, nor the foreigners who live among you. In six days I, the Lord, make the earth, the sky, the sea, and everything in them. On the seventh day I rested. So I have blessed the Sabbath day and make it holy.)
5) Honor thy father and thy mother.
(Then you will live long in the land I am giving you.)
6) Thou shalt not murder.

7) Thou shalt not commit adultery.

8) Thou shalt not steal.

9) Thou shalt not bear false witness against they neighbor.

10) Thou shalt not covet anything that belongs to thy neighbor.
(Do not desire his house, his wife, his servants, his animals, or anything else that he owns.)
